N.B. All sea swims are subject to weather conditions. Where a sea swim is not possible the session will take place in the pool at the original pool swimming time.
Course Goal Swims
One of your scheduled sea swim lessons in the Spring Term 2 will be used to complete your course goal.
The date of this swim will not be decided until the Spring Term of 2011 and is subject to change depending on the weather conditions.
The course goals are as follows:
Bronze - Pier to Pier
Silver - Around the Palace Pier
Gold - Marina to the Palace Pier

Sea Swimming Adventure Days,
Summer 2012

Exciting one day adventures of specialist sea swimming tuition.
There are two days available:
An Introductory Day for novice sea swimmers able to continuously achieve distances of at least 200m competently in a pool
An Intermediate Day for novice sea swimmers able to continuously achieve distances of at least 400m competently in a pool.
Aims of Course:
To introduce sea swimming technique
To better understand sea conditions
To develop confidence

* The main swims are different for each of the days:

| Intermediate Day | Volk's Railway Swim: ride the Volk's railway to the Palace Pier before commencing a swim back to Yellowave (approx. 0.5miles) |
N.B. Due to safety reasons we have specific sea and weather conditions in which we can allow our sea sessions to take place. Therefore, changes to the itinerary may be made to accommodate for the best sea swimming conditions and to ensure the safety of the group. Where a sea swim is not possible the session will take place in the pool.
About the Course:
Maximum of 12 swimmers per day
Swimmers will be provided with a high visibility latex swimming hat
Swimmers must provide their own wetsuit
All sea swimming will be in a controlled area and will be supported by kayaks and our own safety boat.
All pool swimming will be exclusive use of Brighton Swimming Centre
